Gingivitis is defined as inflammation of the gums. It occurs because films of bacteria that accumulate on the teeth, plaque, which build up inside the gum pockets, cause the gums to become loose, and detach from the tooth. This is similar to RECEDING GUMS, but has an added element of inflammation.
After every meal and snack, do the following sequence:
1) Using toothpaste, brush your teeth, IN A GENTLE, CIRCULAR MOTION, at the area where the teeth meet the gums.
2) Floss.
3) Rinse with mouthwash.
4) Brush your teeth with sea salt, in that same circular motion. (sea salt kills bacterial and fungal attachments.)
5) Rinse with mouthwash.
6) Rinse with the following solution:
4 oz water, to which you add:
18 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil
18 drops Lavender Essential Oil
Shake before use. Allow the solution to flow over the affected gums, for about 15 seconds, then rinse out the excess.
It does involve a bit of discipline, but untreated receding gums can lead to gum surgery, and thats a hundred times worse.
