11 Things That Can Make Thigh Chaffing Worse

If you have ever asked “How do you get rid of skin chafing?” then you know that what you are really asking is “Whats a quick cure for soothing skin chafing?”

Skin chafing is often caused by a mixture of sunburn, and skin dried out from swimming pools or swimming in the ocean.

Add to that some tight summer outfits, and you have the perfect formula for skin chafe.

But its not just Summer that’s to blame. Here are 11 Things That Can Make Thigh Chaffing Worse:

1.Overweight – The more pounds you can lose, the less thigh chafing will be an issue.

2.Wearing shorts or jeans – You will increase thigh chafing by wearing shorts, because they create friction constantly, in the inner thigh area. Rather wear skirts and dresses.

3.Don’t forget to apply a rich body lotion to the thighs, at the start of each day, and again, whenever chafing is felt.

4.If you find that body lotion sinks in too rapidly, apply a body oil instead, as this will provide a far longer term lubrication.

5.Avoid washing the inner thighs with soap. Instead, wash with a hair conditioner. This is a fantastic tip, that will lessen your chafing by at least half. Soap dries out all the oils in the skin, and that is exactly what you want to avoid.

6.Never sit cross-legged because this increases friction of the thigh. (It also gives you protruding and broken veins.)

7.When you sleep on your side, place a pillow between your legs. Find a position for the pillow, that cause there to be a gap between your inner thighs.

8.Avoid pantihose, because they dry out your skin, and create friction all day. If you absolutely have to wear stockings for work or aesthetic reasons, try the old suspender and garter style.

9.If you swim in a pool or lake, apply body lotion or body oil, immediately after each swim.

10.Gym clothes must not be tight, or synthetic fabric. Find a pair of loose, 100% cotton pants, for all your workouts and sporting activities.

11.Sitting for long periods of time can worsen chafing, so whenever possible, place a small cushion between your inner thighs. Everyone is different, so search for the thigh-divider that is a perfect fit for you. Cover the cushion/foam wedge, in 100% cotton.
