Home Remedies for Anxiety

Anxiety is a natural human response to a feeling of having your survival threatened – whether physically or emotionally. The threat does not have to be currently present. Something may have triggered an anxious response in you, because it subconsciously reminded you of a previous time when your survival was threatened.

As we accumulate stress, muscles contract, and every system of the body goes into ‘fight or flight’ mode.

Fortunately, there are many things we can do to counteract tension, to get back to feeling relaxed.

I was honored to have been featured in poshbeautyblog.com in which the owner, Carla Snuggs says:

To learn more about essential oils, I had the honor of tapping Janice Rosenthal, certified Beauty Therapist, Massage Therapist and an internationally qualified Lecturer in Beauty Therapy, Massage, and Anatomy & Physiology.

Janice is also the founder of Gardenofessences.com which offers essential oils for the soul! Janice shared her knowledge of three relaxing essential oils.”

The top Natural Remedies for Anxiety are:

Time away from everyone.

Working out at the Gym.

Being in Nature.

Receiving a Massage.

It is important to use a natural remedy for anxiety, because the use of drugs or alcohol, will not relieve stress in the long term. Drugs, such as sedatives, may make you feel slightly better, while they are in your system, but as soon as they wear off, you will be back to your original state of stress, only you will feel worse. This is because drugs deplete the body of its natural balance of hormones and chemical messengers.

Everyone is unique, and so it is a process of discovery in finding what it is that truly makes you feel as if  layers of tension, have fallen away. It could be meditation, playing music, gardening, or cooking.

People have often asked “How do you get rid of anxiety?” The answer is – only you will know what works for you, as you try out each home remedy for anxiety.
